Housecalls by Scrappin' Madge - December Blog Hop Reveal

Welcome back to day two of the December Blog Hop Reveal… I'm so happy you are here to join us.
This kit is full of all kinds of fun paper, ribbons, stickers, flair, a stamp and washi tape too!  You can go back and see the fun Mini Album I created for yesterday's reveal and still have plenty left over to create today's projects.
With Christmas fast approaching and gifts to wrap, I thought it appropriate that I share a tag for you today.  I used one of the stickers as my inspiration and layered it with a couple of different scrap pieces of paper and put that on a manilla tag.  Then I layered stickers, a little bling and a bell!  I just love the ribbon that comes with our kits as well.  I used pop-dots to lift the reindeer and the holly from the paper.
Next I couldn't go without a big THANK YOU to our fearless leader and friend, Madge!  I just love her and I have thoroughly enjoyed being on this amazing team and am so grateful to have the opportunity to be a member.  So I thought it would be fun to make a page…
I know this is a winter kit but I had something else in mind this time, so for this layout I used my die-cut machine and created different shapes to layer on the page.  I found a photo from a recent retreat that we were able to meet up at.  (It is there that I was asked to join the team).  I used stickler, a little bling and baker's twine, ribbon, and flowers from my stash.

Happy 34th Birthday to Samantha and Pamela!

Today I reflect back to 34 years ago when I was laying in a hospital after delivery my beautiful twin daughters and thinking "What the heck just happened!" You see we were told we were having an 8 lb. baby boy and were surprised when we haPamela Litka first and she was a girl and thenSamantha Mendoza and not only a girl but a twin! We didn't know we were having twins so Hunka, Hunka Robert Pumphrey passed out in the delivery room. Things were chaotic at best from the surprise delivery, but what a blessed day it was! We had lots of support from many friends and family and they survived their young parents! I am one lucky mother to have such amazing kids. I thank God everyday for trusting me to have you both as well as your sisters… (and of course all those wonderful grandkids you have given me… lol).

Happy Birthday girls and many, many more! Can't wait to celebrate! have a great day!!! Hugs, Mom

Housecalls by Scrappin Madge - December Blog Hop Reveal

Hi everyone!  Janey here to share with you a mini album that I created using this month's kit.  First, here is a look at the kit.
So I decided to create a mini-album with all the funness!
I first cut all the shapes (the bell, present, star, stocking and tree) out of chipboard and then cut shapes with the paper and assembled the album.  I then took the "This and That" page and cut out all the little tags (pages).  This would be perfect for Instagram photos or contact sheet photos.
Once I embellished everything and added a little bling, I added the ribbon and little bell to make it festive.  I grabbed a ring to put everything together!  I'm really excited to see how it turned out!
I really do hope you leave a comment as there is a prize being awarded to someone who does!  Thanks for hopping by and I look forward to tomorrow so you can see what I'm working on next!
Keep on Scrappin'

Update - I forgot to add the line up…. PLEASE make sure to check out all the sites for the hop and come back tomorrow!

MemoryWorks December Daily - Day 5

I have never done a December Daily, so this has taken me lots of preparation and research… I know I probably put too much into finding ideas rather than actually getting it done…. Haa, Haa!  Anyhow, the MemoryWorks Team has been busy creating December Daily Albums.  I love all the creativity!  For my album, I was thrilled to do my rendition of Heidi Swapps Files Album.  It is a pre-done album that you can just put pictures in if you want, but we all know that I like to bling it up, add ink and layer, layer, layer!  Here is the products that I am using on my album.
So without further a due… here is the cover and a few pages to show you what I've been up to.
Front Cover
Inside cover… we all need a calendar to keep us on track and that can be added to.
Day 1 - Trimming the Tree
Day 2 - Decorating the house

Day 3 - First Christmas Party of the Season…Ornament Exchange.  This ornament is chipboard which I cut from my Cricut.
It is hard to tell but the journaling has inking and the tag has inking and glitter!
A few pictures of the snow we had, a sticker and piece of chipboard.

Well, thank you for joining me and return next week and we'll show you more of what we are doing and some more of my December Dailys.  Check the MemoryWorks blog for more inspiration to complete your December Daily!

Housecalls by Scrappin Madge - Wow Wednesday

Welcome back to our final Wow Wednesday for the month!  The Craft Doctors have even more creative projects to share with you that they made with this fun kit.
The kit is entitled "Harvest Traditions"
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow!
I thought I'd share with you a card that I made for a friends birthday this past week.  Sometimes it is hard to come up with a card for our husbands, brothers, fathers, etc.  I think this could have gone for some of my girlfriends as well.
I embossed the card front and added tags and ribbon to make a banner.  I added a little flair, bling and ribbon to get the look I'm looking for.  Also, a little ribbon from my stash.  I inked everything as usual and added a sentiment.
I added some stickler for a little bling.
For my next card I thought a turkey was fitting since the big day is tomorrow.  I used my die-cut machine and cut pieces out to make the turkey and layered all the pieces.  I made a cute tag from the tags on the paper in the kit.  I added google eyes, baker's twine and lots of pop-dots for a dimension.
I wanted to make sure the turkey jumped off the page, so there is lots of pop-dots.
The tag is pretty funny… I printed on the tag and added leaves.
Well, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Here is to an awesome holiday!

I hope you've enjoyed today's Wow Wednesday and I hope you come back soon as we share some Christmas fun and even more inspiration.

Housecalls by Scrappin Madge - Wow Wednesday

Welcome back and thank for joining us for another fun Wow Wednesday!  The Craft Doctors have more creative projects to share with you that they made with this kit.
The kit is entitled "Harvest Traditions"
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week!  I wanted to share with you an easel card that I made that really doesn't have anything to do with Thanksgiving, but everything to do with being thankful!
My eighth grandchild turned 1 yesterday and so I thought I would make him a birthday card for the big day.  I used the Carta Bella 6x6 Paper Pad that came with our kit.  I first made a base for the card and found some 6x6 pieces cut to fit and to make the ease part of the card.  Then using my die-cut machine I cut out the "Happy Birthday", Frog, lilly pad, and dogwood pieces.  I made shadow pieces to help the die-cuts stand-out.
I loved how it turned out by just using a few pieces of paper from the kit.
I added his name at the base of the easel so that if he wanted to display it in his room he can!  Those that know me know that I ink all the edges of all paper and used pop-dots for the added dimensions to the card.
What's a frog "easel" card without google eyes?  They just made the card.  Of course I added a $1 bill for his first bill and he just loved it!  I did ink al the edges to get my desired look.  Can I just say I loved this card and I'm so thankful for my Littlest Grandson!

MemoryWorks Day 13: 30 Days, 30 Cards

Wow… I can't believe we are already on Day 13!  What amazing cards we have from the MemoryWorks Design Team right?  I hope everyone is enjoying the inspiration and are also taking on the challenge of making all the cards.
Today, I thought I would share with you a sketch I found on Cardabilities!  Here is the sketch…
Using the Simple Stories Handmade Holiday's 12x12 paper pad, I was able to come up with my take on the sketch.
First, I started with cutting white card stock 4 1/4 x 11 1/2.  I then folded the card stock in half to make the card.  Next, I spritzed a chevron mask with Glimmer Mist for the background.  I used my die-cut machine to cut edges and borders from the papers and the holly for the front.  I then inked the edges of everything and went to town layering all the papers.  I also made a pocket so you could add an invite as I did or perhaps you would want to add a gift card!  As you can see, I've added baker's twine and ribbon to the tag as well.
To finish off the card, I added pop dots to the holly to lift it off the page.  I also used a white pen to give the berries a little dimension.

I hope you have enjoyed my little bit of fun and come back tomorrow as our Talented Team Member Sheri shows us some more inspiration!
