Housecalls by Scrappin Madge - Wow Wednesday

Welcome back to our final Wow Wednesday for the month!  The Craft Doctors have even more creative projects to share with you that they made with this fun kit.
The kit is entitled "Harvest Traditions"
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow!
I thought I'd share with you a card that I made for a friends birthday this past week.  Sometimes it is hard to come up with a card for our husbands, brothers, fathers, etc.  I think this could have gone for some of my girlfriends as well.
I embossed the card front and added tags and ribbon to make a banner.  I added a little flair, bling and ribbon to get the look I'm looking for.  Also, a little ribbon from my stash.  I inked everything as usual and added a sentiment.
I added some stickler for a little bling.
For my next card I thought a turkey was fitting since the big day is tomorrow.  I used my die-cut machine and cut pieces out to make the turkey and layered all the pieces.  I made a cute tag from the tags on the paper in the kit.  I added google eyes, baker's twine and lots of pop-dots for a dimension.
I wanted to make sure the turkey jumped off the page, so there is lots of pop-dots.
The tag is pretty funny… I printed on the tag and added leaves.
Well, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Here is to an awesome holiday!

Housecalls by Scrappin Madge - Wow Wednesday

Welcome back and thank for joining us for another fun Wow Wednesday!  The Craft Doctors have more creative projects to share with you that they made with this kit.
The kit is entitled "Harvest Traditions"
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week!  I wanted to share with you an easel card that I made that really doesn't have anything to do with Thanksgiving, but everything to do with being thankful!
My eighth grandchild turned 1 yesterday and so I thought I would make him a birthday card for the big day.  I used the Carta Bella 6x6 Paper Pad that came with our kit.  I first made a base for the card and found some 6x6 pieces cut to fit and to make the ease part of the card.  Then using my die-cut machine I cut out the "Happy Birthday", Frog, lilly pad, and dogwood pieces.  I made shadow pieces to help the die-cuts stand-out.
I loved how it turned out by just using a few pieces of paper from the kit.
I added his name at the base of the easel so that if he wanted to display it in his room he can!  Those that know me know that I ink all the edges of all paper and used pop-dots for the added dimensions to the card.
What's a frog "easel" card without google eyes?  They just made the card.  Of course I added a $1 bill for his first bill and he just loved it!  I did ink al the edges to get my desired look.  Can I just say I loved this card and I'm so thankful for my Littlest Grandson!

MemoryWorks Day 13: 30 Days, 30 Cards

Wow… I can't believe we are already on Day 13!  What amazing cards we have from the MemoryWorks Design Team right?  I hope everyone is enjoying the inspiration and are also taking on the challenge of making all the cards.
Today, I thought I would share with you a sketch I found on Cardabilities!  Here is the sketch…
Using the Simple Stories Handmade Holiday's 12x12 paper pad, I was able to come up with my take on the sketch.
First, I started with cutting white card stock 4 1/4 x 11 1/2.  I then folded the card stock in half to make the card.  Next, I spritzed a chevron mask with Glimmer Mist for the background.  I used my die-cut machine to cut edges and borders from the papers and the holly for the front.  I then inked the edges of everything and went to town layering all the papers.  I also made a pocket so you could add an invite as I did or perhaps you would want to add a gift card!  As you can see, I've added baker's twine and ribbon to the tag as well.
To finish off the card, I added pop dots to the holly to lift it off the page.  I also used a white pen to give the berries a little dimension.

Housecalls by Scrappin Madge - Wow Wednesday

Welcome back to another fun Wow Wednesday!  The Craft Doctors have been busy creating great projects with this kit.
The kit is entitled "Harvest Traditions"
With Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, I thought it fitting to share with you some ideas for place cards for the Thanksgiving Table.
First I created this darling Turkey… In lieu of the heart entitled "Give Thanks" you can put your guest name or leave as it is and put their name somewhere else on the turkey.  I used paper from the kit and inked all the edges.  I added goggly eyes for some added fun!  The feathers are created out of circles cut from a circle punch and I hand cut everything else out using a pattern I found a couple of year ago.  My grandkids will "gobble" this one up… lol!
My next project was another idea that I saw on Pinterest.  I made rosettes in different sizes by cutting stripes of paper at 1 1/4", 1 1/2" and 1".  Then I layered them to get a pumpkin look.  I added a cinnamon stick for the center not to mention it added a nice fragrance.  I also cut leaves out with my die-cut machine.  I wrapped wire with florist tape to make the spiral for added fun.  I also added glitter to some of the edges for a little bling over the ink on all the edges.
I added the tag using twine.  The tag was stamped with this month's rubber stamp.  I added a leave and washi tape to the card.

I hope you've enjoyed today's Wow Wednesday and I do hope you come back soon for even more inspiration.

Day 7: 30 Days, 30 Cards

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 7 of our 30 Days, 30 Cards.  I am happy to be here to show you another card idea.  My inspiration came from Cardabilities.  I loved all the layers of this card!  Here is the sketch.
Here is my version of the card.  I started with different cuts from my die-cut machine with red and green card stock layered on embossed white card stock.  I added baker's twine before I adhered it all.  I also made several cuts to make the poinsettia.  I layered the cuts, inked all the pieces, misted the edges then raised it off the paper.  I cut the striped paper at 1" and put across the card and another piece just slightly under it.  I cut the salutation and placed it on the card.  I added Stickles for a little bling and sprayed the card with Glimmer Mist.
Believe Card
Here is a close-up of the poinsettia
A view of the salutation!

Housecalls by Scrappin Madge - Wow Wednesday

Hello everyone!  Thanks for joining me and the other Craft Doctors for Wow Wednesday.  It happens to be one of my granddaughter's birthday today so I thought I'd create a card for her using this month's Housecalls Kit.
I created a card and layered different elements to create the design I wanted.  I added bakers twine from my stash and a little bling.  All other pieces are from the kit.  I inked all edges of the card.
I hope you enjoy and please join me again next Wednesday for some more inspiration.

30 Days, 30 Cards

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 3 of MemoryWorks 30 Days, 30 Cards.  I am happy to be here to show you another card idea.  My inspiration came from RetroSketches.  I was excited to see sleek simple lines for a quick and easy card.  Here is the sketch.
For my interpretation of the card, I started with some craft colored cardstock, followed by some My Mind's Eye Mistletoe Magic Washi Tape.  Then I added a few strips of paper from the Simple Stories December Documented - 6x6 Pad.  Next I used my die-cut machine and created the saying "Deck the Halls" and layered it off the paper a smidge with popdots.  I couldn't stop there so I added some We R Memory Keepers Red Baker's Twine followed by another die-cut of a wreath.  I love a little bling so I added Stickles in a few spots.  I might also mention I inked all the edges of the papers used, with Tim Holtz inks.
I hope you have enjoyed today's card and don't forget to visit the MemoryWorks Blog for some more inspiration from the Design Team.  Also, make sure you check out 30 Days, 30 Cards page and see how you can win a prize!
